We'll trace the Ottomans from their origins outside of Istanbul, to their conquering of the city in the 15th century, to their eventual rule of an Empire that rivalled Rome. This three-hour walking seminar takes participants into the palace with a historian to explore the internal workings of the Ottoman court and the political intrigues and architectural accomplishments at the heart of this 400-year empire.
After Topkapi Palace, you will continue to Hagia Sophia – The Emperor Justinian built St.Sophia when Istanbul was Constantinople. It is the model of a lot of mosques here. Then you will visit Blue Mosque - The superb interior is decorated with more than 20,000 blue Iznik tiles. After visit to Blue Mosque, you will visit Hippodrome & Grand Bazaar - Today, shop selling the same kind of merchandise tend to be congregated in their own street or in hans as this was originally the Ottoman system. In addition to two bedestens there are also 13 hans in the Grand Bazaar. Enjoy the aroma of spices and the vibrant atmosphere of this market.
